The Weeping Cherry Tree

Have you noticed how I’m trying to mix different topics in between all my cherry blossom posts?
I didn’t want to overwhelm you with all this sakura spam. But it’s hard to hold back when you have houses like this in your neighborhood. A house that stands around a breathtaking weeping cherry tree that everyone stops to admire when walking past. (As they should!)
Don’t you adore the owners who decided to build their house around this cherry tree?

  1. Weeping cherry trees are a favorite of mine.

It does look like the tree came first and then the house as a gentle surround.

I have the highest regard for people that would hold that tree in such esteem, and that the tree didn’t suffer the same fate as that half arch in Tokorozawa which was reduced to this. But, like you noticed, there were new branches sprouting, and it has been five years. I wonder if there are new blossoms on the tree of the last link.

  2. I remember that tree in Tokorozawa! I had just discovered the leaning beauty and then it was just a stump 😦

Luckily, I don't think we need to worry about this carefully tended tree! 😀
