The Lunch at Panino Vino

This weekend my college friend M was in town!
She currently lives in Australia and is newly engaged! (Whoop whoop!) So you can imagine, we had a lot to talk about. A LOT. We were literally there for hours.
It felt good to talk. I know how we have technology now so we can phone, email and/or skype each other even though we live far away. But still, there’s nothing like an official gabfest face to face, don’t you think?

We had delicious panini and tea while we caught up. I love the bread they use here. So good. We also had dessert, which I didn’t even have time to take a picture of because we scarfed it down so fast ๐Ÿ˜€
M brought me my absolute favorite Australian omiyage, Tim Tams, but even better, she also gave me one of her drawings!
ย I love it. M draws so beautifully. Her drawings are always so sweet and kind, you can really see who she is through her work. I already have this drawing up on my wall and smile every time I see it! x
Happy long weekend everyone! (Also, happy regular weekend for people who aren’t in Japan!)

  1. Penguin!

I was blissfully ignorant until Aussie colleagues introduces me to TimTams. Catch me at the right moment, and I'll confess that I like it more than KitKats. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. I love reading your blog – it makes me feel like I am right there with you. It sounds like the two of you had an amazing afternoon. M's drawings are truly beautiful. I can understand why they make you smile. This one made me smile too ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Ooooooh that looks good! And the iced tea looks fab!! I'm impressed by her drawing, I stayed at playschool level despite the fact my major with Arts and Arts' History in high school! Hahaha

  4. Are you kidding? They are much much better than KitKats! I consumed so much TimTams while in Australai, I almost went into a coma. But they are so hard to resist! ๐Ÿ˜€

  5. PS: Aren't my friends amazing? I am always in awe of them, including a lovely wild lady from a certain shitamachi in Tokyo ๐Ÿ˜€

  6. Cheryl! Thank you for the comment! I'm so glad you like it…I don't really have the talent of writing but I post a lot of pictures to make up for it. Hehe!

M is going to be an amazing illustrator/children's book writer! She's just starting out but I'm oohing and ahhing over all her drawings lately ๐Ÿ˜€

PS: I have another snailmail to send out to you soon! x

  7. Hi Vanessa! The iced tea was fabulous! Don't you love how tall that glass is? I need one of those at home for homemade lemonade! ๐Ÿ˜€

PS: I bet you draw better than you say! Oh wait…I just remembered your Draw Something pictures! Teehee! Just kidding! You're drawings were awesome! x (But what ever happened to that app?)

  8. Oh my gosh Kaori…just happened to open your blog and my face popped up! lol You are too sweet for writing such lovely things! I can be the person I like when I'm with you because you bring out the best of me. You gotta know that it's your personality that's doing magic! ๐Ÿ™‚

I've done a bit more drawings since last Saturday and uploaded some of my works on the blog. Please come visit when you feel like you need a boost from the penguins, hehe.
